chew/gulp/spit is calling for submissions inspired by the word/action ‘CHEW’. We are looking for poetry, fiction, non-fiction, essays, articles, art & photography to be published in our upcoming first ever zine!

horror/guilt/panic/thirst

to digest...
ferment, bubbling, disintegration in sloshing acidic bile. destruction of form and layers through a soaking osmosis.

process to turn anew - for better, for worse?

we welcome work on the body, environment, mourning, food, desire, reflection, descent

 

If your work is selected to be printed in our first issue, you will also be welcome and encouraged to read your piece at our second chew/gulp/spit event in Glasgow on November 18th 2022. Details tbh.

 

POETRY:

 

Please submit up to three poems in a Word or pdf format to chewgulpspit@gmail.com. Poems will be printed without editing so it is up to the contributor to ensure grammar and presentation is as intended.

 

FICTION, NON-FICTION, ESSAYS & ARTICLES:

 

Please submit one piece per submission in a Word or pdf format to chewgulpspit@gmail.com. Word limit is 1000 words.

 

ART:

 

Please submit no more than 4 pieces per submission. Work should be in high resolution with no watermarks. Please title the artwork if it has a name, and if it is part of a series, please include this information.

Please feel free to include your Instagram handle so we can tag you in posts showcasing your work.
